We offer several Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Applications are accepted year-round, but most Fellows complete one year of training following an academic calendar.

The Post-Doctoral Fellowship focuses on psychological testing and evaluation. Fellows receive a broad-generalist experience, with exposure to a wide range of referral types, ages, ethnically diverse clients, and diagnoses, with the potential for specific focus in one or more areas outlined below. 

Successful applicants will have solid testing skills, excellent report writing skills, the ability to quickly learn and integrate new tests into their repertoire, and motivation to strive for excellence. 

Evaluations routinely offered at  Positive Transformation Psychological Services include:

  • Developmental testing with young children,
  • Autism evaluation
  • Assessment of foster children
  • Forensic evaluations (e.g., psychosexual, parental fitness, custody, criminal defense, competency, and fitness for duty evaluations)
  • Neuropsychological evaluations (children and adults),
  • Psychoeducational evaluations
  • Pre-surgical psychological evaluations (i.e., pre-bariatric, gender affirmative)
  • General psychological evaluations with a diverse range of clients

Who should apply? PTPS  is committed to ensuring an inclusive and accepting workplace for trainees of all backgrounds.  We are looking for fellows who enjoy psychological testing and desire to work in an inviting and welcoming atmosphere (with competitive pay).  

What else should I know about this position?  This position is primarily focused on psychological testing and evaluation, as opposed to psychotherapy. Evaluations mostly take place in our office or via telehealth. There are additional opportunities for conducting evaluations at off-site locations (i.e., juvenile and adult detention centers, social services offices, treatment centers). 

When can I apply? There is no specific closing or cut-off date for post-doctoral fellowship positions. Most fellows complete one year of training to meet licensure requirements, typically in line with an academic calendar.  However, there often are opportunities for open enrollment or year-round acceptance. 

How far in my training should I be? Applicants for the post-doctoral fellowship should have completed their doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or school psychology and a pre-doctoral internship in psychology before beginning post-doctoral training. The graduate program must be from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited or ASPPB/National Register designated program, and an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship is preferred. Previous psychological assessment experience is preferred but not required.
